Hm? Oh. Hi. Right, so, this is my page all about... me. A bit of an exercise in self-indulgence every once in a while, ne?

Right, so. Many people only know me online as either Hwin or horseygurl. Surprise, neither is my legal name. I go by Möria in my day-to-day life. As of this writing, I'm nineteen years of age (Born on February 18th, 1988, thank you.) I live in New York City, which in my not so humble opinion is the best place I've ever lived. I enjoy being a geek about Macintosh computers, horses, old cameras, graphic design and cooking, in no particular order or measure of importance. I also have a sincere love of history, books, travel and art of all sorts.

I like a large group of musicians, including and not limited to Tori Amos, David Bowie, They Might Be Giants, Cowboy Junkies, Fiona Apple, The Beatles, Sarah McLachlan, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, and many others.

I'm also somewhat of a black sheep in many peoples' minds because of the fact that I quit school at eleven years old and have taught myself everything I wanted to know — without ever setting foot in a school. I love talking about alternative schooling, and couldn't imagine learning or living any other way.

As for cooking, I throughly enjoy baking. I've heard people say my brownies are worth killing for. I don't know about that, but I do know the recipe is something I'll share, along with my oatmeal cookie pie crust. I can also make a mean roast chicken and my barbecue sauce is not to be trifled with — I did spent most of my formative years in South Carolina, where barbecue isn't just a food, it's a way of life.

I also have a passion for photography, especially with vintage cameras. My collection of Brownie cameras is something I'm very pleased with, not least of all for the fact that I got them all working on my own — another example of unschooling in action! Most of my shots these days, though, are taken with my newest shiny toy, a digital camera. I also have a film SLR that I use when I want the warmth of film.

As you might could guess from my screenname, I have an intense passion and love for horses. I've considered spending my life working with horses. I spent several years riding in the United States Pony Club, and acheived significant dressage training outside of my Pony Club riding time. I've spent time doing everything from vaulting, to grooming, to training horses and riders how to ride. I could go on for hours on different training methods, horses and places to ride.
