I woke up and realized I finally had my first dream here! It’s also the Gunch’s birthday today.
I got ready and went to breakfast, which was scrumptious as always but the exciting part of my morning was when my advisee decided to do a freaky Friday with Kennedy’s advisee. How it worked was Kennedy and Perry swapped places and Perry pretended to be Kennedy with his advisee and my advisee was helping “Perry” who was having a nervous breakdown. In the end, we all made music for them to switch back.
There was a conflict I had with a group of friends last night and it really affected me, but instead of doing what I usually do which is ignoring it, I talked with them this afternoon about what bothered me. Since the situation was really messy, neither party completely understood it. The talk ended in resolution and we all felt better as if it was a breath of fresh air to move on from it instead of burying it and pretending it didn’t happen. I also showed them my epic “fish out of water” dance move that I pulled out at prom last night.
During lunch, Orion, a jr staffer, came up to me and told me a favourite memory they have of me and then gave me chocolate Kisses and said “From your fairy god parent(FGP)”. Throughout the rest of the day, nine other people gave me around 3 chocolate Kisses and a compliment or favorite memory they have of me and that meant a lot.
During the only workshop slot today, i attended the presidential debate for who would be president of camp as a poll organizer and counter. The debate was between Baby Cat, Silly, and I guess the secret third option as well. Me and Christian (senior staffer) counted the votes from my DIY ballot box and Silly won with a majority of 16 valid votes. Samuel Joseph Sanchez was going to be the vice president. However, Zoe JDP presented that instead of Sam we have Baby Cat as the VP and the citizens of NBTSC agreed.
As Julian and Syrus gave me chocolate Kisses I said I had to pee and ordered Julian to carry me to the bathroom, at first it was princess style but then we swapped to piggyback ride for Julian’s sake. We agreed it would be on my FGP’s tab. On the way to the bathroom, we spotted J. and I expressed my desire to blog for today to my friends and Syrus suggested we go up to them and ask. So, we did and they said yes!
Later, I went to the Questions Anonymous panel by the senior staffers and got some good advice.
Today I planned to complete my goal of five climbs this camp session in order to gain a strike on my page in the top of the tree journal and in the end I succeeded with 6 overall climbs. The only time I climbed the tree today was with Aiden and Grayson.
Got a group of people to sing happy birthday to my Fairy Godchild for fun and they were really confused because everyone forgot to mention it was from their Fairy Godparent.
During evening meeting me and my friends formed a cuddle puddle and sang the song of the night. When the people who were laying on me sang, I noticed that i could feel the vibrations of their voices.
I suggested Renaissance as a prom theme for next year and holy shit it actually won!! My prize for winning was a purple cardboard flower.
For comedy night, I wanted to do pure improv with a group of people and the group that was formed was Kilam, Jack J, and Aiden H. We were nervous because none of us had ever performed improv on a stage. The first scene suggested by the audience was an underwater bathroom. For the second scene we asked the audience to give a thirty-second summary of a random piece of media that we would later renact and they chose Saving Private Ryan which none of us had seen before. The performance ended with lots of laughs and enjoyment from the audience!
After comedy night, I hung out with Sully (a Jr. staffer), Kilam, and Elle for a bit in the dish pit which was really fun! Sully talked about his life in Alaska and then we had tea time until 12:30am. I soon decided to go to sleep in the field with Julian, Lily, Caitlin, and Kilam for a good night’s rest.
