First thing i remember is waking up to rain falling on me after the night before insisting it wasn’t going to. Me and Aidan were semi sleeping out in the field together? (we were like 6 feet apart) but yeah, rain ruined my perfectly good field sleep, so I sat on the porch pleasantly tired and a little wet before deciding to just take my stuff up to my cabin to sleep for the last 2 hours i had😴
I then woke up after an hour of my alarm going off, I think it was a mix of the rain and how warm my bed was, but I super slept in, so I get all ready and changed as fast as I can, and head down to the main lodge. I precede to go in and out of the kitchen until i’m asked to take on lunch all by my self💪 of course i’m happy to take on that, cuz that’s just the boss I am (Maya was super happy with me🥰)
The next few hours felt like they went so fast as I went between playing with Oona and talking to people, but then I find myself back in the kitchen again making dinner, but right at the perfect time that I get to say hi to none of my friends as they are getting here, so all I can do is stare longingly at everyone through the kitchen window, but the hours go by and the work slows, and i’m allowed to venture, so I rush right out and go from person to person saying hi! lots of new faces this year. I wished the talking could go on forever, especially because we had like the best cabin😎 but the bell rings and we’re circled up and pulled apart again.
I had a pretty awesome advisee group, everyone was talking and laughing, and I was being my classic self, grinning like a goober. Every year I’m always so surprised by how dark it gets so fast, anyhoo! We do the arrival meeting thing (whatever the name is) and I sorta just haunt a bunch of random conversations, getting really tired in the process and going lost puppy mode. Me and a couple people end up deciding to sleep in Frida’s, so I wait on the front step for Kilam as him and Koi bro out, he does end up joining me and we annoying whisper for like 30 minutes then fall asleep in the bed Elijah lovingly made for us🥰 (sorry this is kinda rushed, I was so late making this, GULP)
