hi! i’m lydia, i’m a first year camper, i’m 13 (almost 14), now i hope you enjoy my blog, hopefully its not to long..
this morning i was woken by the wake up call in the cozy lodge, i felt weird because i woke up from an odd dream, i had stayed up a bit late last night so i was slow to get up but i did get up, i find it easier to wake up when group sleeping, at breakfast i had the potatoes which are finally cooked lmao, after breakfast it was check in of course, I believe i said a 4.3/5 because i felt pretty good! during meeting we sung aubrie a special happy birthday song 🙂 we love you aubrie! we also a chose a prom theme, it is the one i wanted which is nice, the hug number was one because advisee was in one minute, christian gave us four extra though
at advisee we did check in which took up quite a while as usual with everyone talking about their day, and we did hot seat for everyone that hadn’t gone, that was pretty much it except for our call we have been making, we add a syllable everyday, today we added “lic” and shouted “RAH-HA-CAN-DO-MEOW-GAR-LIC!” our call is pretty long now, hopefully the other advisee’s aren’t mad lol
after several minutes it was time for workshop 1 which i showed up somewhat late to unfortunately, i went to “evil bonding night and distrustful circle” but i got there when the “distrustful circle” started, it was really fun and made me laugh pretty hard
shortly after i had superhero teams, I listened to my favorite song (shoutout Soulless Creatures) while I restocked and swept the staff kybo which was very quick because there wasn’t much work to be done
i had some extra time talking to campers before lunchtime and i got to skip because i was headed to the danish radio show workshop! liam (who is a previous camper but is now an adult) was running it, we discussed what segments to do live, we headed over to where the internet was better because the internet kinda sucks in vermont lol, it was so much fun to be interviewed by aliyah and oona and was really just a great time! some of the stories were pretty funny
after we finished up the show oona and owen were cutting liam’s hair so i observed and chatted, next it was juju’s turn, i collected their hair scraps with luke because we just love their swag yellow green blue hair :3 but we eventually heard the workshop 2 bell though so owen and oona finished the haircut, me and juju went to leo’s workshop where everyone does workouts by carrying leo, i got carried a few times aswell and it was a pretty fun workshop, i spent the last time of workshop 2 at nori’s paper thing though which i was pretty bad at it but alas its fineeee
workshop 3 came and i went to will’s workshop picking prom music for tonight, i felt neutral to slightly negative about most of the songs but i did quite enjoy a few of them, the votes were usually not very unanimous, i was unsure how many songs i will dance to at prom but i was excited! (spoiler alert i did dance a *lot* at prom)
i left and i played with cosmo for a bit before capture the flag started, i personally decided not to play and so did aliyah so we sat and chatted while watching, some hype music played which was a fun time, there was a romantic song after which was pretty funny considering it was for capture the flag lol, anyway i walked out towards for the field for a bit and thats when larkin asked me to write this blog! i was excited because i had hoped to write one and thought all the spots were taken, i then went inside to get some of it done, i also talked to some friends outside a bit later
eventually i heard the dinner bell and got dinner talking to oscar and saskia, i got some rice and almonds but i was a little disappointed with the selection, whatever the rice was tasty, i ate outside with friends like i usually would but there was quite a few bugs flying at me, there is a lot of bugs because we’re in the woods but it’s actually not as bad as i worried when i was getting ready for camp which is nice, but anyway before to long it was check in and community meeting
im pretty sure for check in i said 4.2 or something along those lines, community meeting was mostly like always except shortened for prom, evening meeting is always fun because its with the angels hehe (junior staff)
i headed to my cabin with my friend aliyah, everyone in our cabin was there and getting ready except for autumn, we chatted while changing into our outfits, me and aliyah accidentally matched dresses which we laughed about, we helped each-other by shining the flashlight, we also had a talk about the raccoon spotted in our cabin, turns out it’s because caroline kept her opened snacks in her bag and the raccoon took her bag and ate most of them, we all told her to please bring them down but i’m not entirely sure if she agreed, so i was mildly irritated but prom distracted me, aliyah and i headed down to the lodge, i braided my hair while elijah did his makeup for a bit but we had to go quickly to get to on runway for prom!
me and aliyah joined the crowd and started dancing, i was mostly hanging around my friends pearl, beatrice and aliyah which was chill, then “How To Be A Heartbreaker” started to play, i love this song, i danced so hard i was out of breath, we all screamed the lyrics and jumped around together, when it ended i rested a little before i started dancing again, i got some water and then the staff gave us cookies! yay! i took a bite of my cookie and got back on the dance floor but then.. hacho was dancing and knocked the cookie straight out of my hand and stomped on it….. 🙁 i quickly picked it up and threw it away, i told him what happened and he apologized profusely but the damage couldn’t be undone… (joking) anyway i got a new cookie and got back on the dance floor, as well as dancing we started a mosh pit and dance circle quite a few times, lots of fun, very hype, homeschool dances are very hit or miss, this one was a super fun time, usually dancing in a group can be quite awkward for me but i didn’t have that experience, i liked most of the songs even the ones i didn’t know which was surprising for me, but eventually the music stopped, we all yelled for one more song andddd will did give us another one! it was a bit of an odd song but i still had fun dancing with friends so whatever, me and aliyah laughed about will’s song choice while we got jackets, prom was quite hot with all the dancing but the night was very cold, i went and sat inside the lodge resting and got super sleepy, i gathered my things and went to my cabin, not before long i fell asleep very quickly and that concludes my great night <3
