Day 9 was a very beautiful and chill day here at Camp Myrtlewood. I started the morning doing wakeup call as that’s one of my main responsibilities as Logistics Angel, then headed to breakfast in the field with and Elijah, followed by check in and morning meeting (which was extra special because it was Will and Lucy’s birthday!). Afterwards I went to my advisee which is always fun and we did some special things for Lucy and played a very silly game called fantasy which is a camp classic. The fantasy story ended up being about Perry and Xane on this random planet where they spoke a foreign European language and became very hostile and started punching everyone in the face? Lol. Afterwards I helped my superhero team clean the buildings and grounds and I had a lunch meeting with the other Jr Staff to discuss our evening meeting which we’re in charge of every night.

I went back to my tent to reorganize and then took a long shower in the new outdoor showers, they are actually much more luxurious than they sound! Very atmospheric and cozy with the fairy lights hanging above. I listened to music on the Forest Dell porch and finished sewing a beautiful patch on my jeans. Later on I got to lead the evening meeting song, I chose a song by a friend of mine called Keep Me in Your Heart for A While, it felt so special to share with camp!

The evening event was the Art Show which is always amazing, it’s so fun to dress up and get to see everyone’s incredible art and talk to the artists themselves! I especially love all the sketchbooks, collage, and fiber arts. There was even a performance piece labeled “Campers chopping potatoes” which was very cool. The musicals always add a great atmosphere to the event as well. Afterwards was the Goblin Rave! I had heard so much about the one last year so I was very excited to attend! Will and Lucy were of course the birthday Goblin King and Queen and were carried into the meadow accompanied by music, green lights, and crowns. The whole event was a vibe and so creative! I loved all the dancing and green goblin drinks. Then I escaped to my tent just before it started pouring and fell asleep to the sound of the rain. It was a wonderful day!
