Lily: Camp Myrtlewood (Day 9, Art Show)

I woke up to Tommy doing wake up call in elm (my cabin). I stayed up too late last night pretending to be old men in the lodge, so I feel pretty tired this morning.

I ate breakfast on the stage with Leon singing about the Simpsons.

Then I sat on the bridge writing and listening to the creek flow.

Morning meeting lifted my spirits, I sat next to Sidney, and we sung “I love myself so much”.

Then it was advisee, today we drew each other,  I drew Grace and she drew me.

I spent the first workshop block taking a much needed shower. On my way to the bathroom I found Koi and Caitlin and we hatched a plan to group shower. Koi and I showered and Caitlin played music for us in the dogwood bathrooms. Afterwords I was feeling a lot better and decided to sit and draw on the front porch for a bit.

For lunch  Gabby and I were the doormen; we took turns opening the door for everyone coming in for lunch (as to not get their hands dirty) and got lots of thank yous 🙂 and was able to chat with the campers eating on the porch.

After I was planning on taking a nap in Forest Dell, since Lucy had asked me if I wanted to, until I saw Xane on top of the swing set and got the urge to try and get up there myself. Unfortunately my effort was to no avail, so I decided to swing on the tire swing. I ended up having a lovely conversation with Tommy, and afterwords some campers made a human Jenga tower with me (we all stacked on top of each other.

I popped into Fred’s workshop about fashion and self discovery, which I really enjoyed.

Afterwords, I was a groomsmen at Jack and Killian’s renewal of vows, which involved lots of kazoo playing, and lots and lots of heart felt words, I can’t say it didn’t bring a tear to my eye.

I took some time for myself and then decided to reintegrate even though I wasn’t feeling the best, but it was very worth it. I talked on the porch with some friends and pranked Oliver by taking his phone when he wasn’t looking, after some questioning I gave it back. And then ran off to serve dinner. Milo, Caitlin, and I cleaned up so quickly we were early for check in. While we were waiting for meeting to start, I was standing on a stump and got picked up and started crowed surfing, then Sully led the song. It was “My Kitchen”, and we used the names of the dish dominators, it was very peak.

Then I had to run to the lodge to set up for the art show, we moved tables and put up art, I got
lots of compliments on my art this year which made me smile. I got to talk to so many people about their art, and got to see Rob’s photos from when he was a camper, with lots pictures of other stuff when they were small, as well as the live dish show “the love of the game” and the bathroom movie.

Afterwards Zoe, Roxy, and I sat and sung and played guitar for hours on the side porch, and we decided to start a band named didie. At 12:30 we called it quits and went to bed. I found a big group in the field and feel asleep under the cloudy sky.
