Hello! I’m Alastar, I’m a second year camper, and this is my blog for the day – it will be mostly about the tree.
Today, I woke up telling myself I wanted to climb the tree a lot. So far, I’d climbed it 20 times this session. My goal was to climb it 5 times today.
First thing after breakfast, I climbed the tree, then we had our morning meeting, and after, I went straight to climbing it again. Then came advisee, which Sita the culminator was running, and we started with talking about some things we’re excited about later this year, then we did our check ins and we all laid in the field together till about 15 minutes after advisee just talking about random little things.
I went right back to climbing the tree and went to lunch. After lunch, it was back to the tree again. On the way up, I saw the same little fluffy spider I had seen on my second climb up that day. After that, my friends Jessie and Jack L had a wedding at the chapel, I walked Jessie down the aisle. It was a beautiful and quick wedding.
After the wedding, I went back to climbing the tree for a while, and then me and my camp “husband” Jack J had another wedding at the top of the tree done by Tommae and recorded by Perry. After that was dinner, I got a lot of bread which was very exciting, the camp bread is the best bread you will ever have.
Then we had an evening meeting, but right before, I climbed the tree for the last couple of times of the day. Before I say the grand total of the number of times I climbed the tree, I’d like to give a mention to everyone I saw climbing the tree today, I am sorry if I missed anyone.

Now the grand total… I climbed it 20 times today, doubling the amount I had climbed in the last 2 weeks, tomorrow I plan to climb another 10 times at least so I can go home and tell my family I climbed the tree 50 times! Also! Jenna and Marcus measured the tree today, and it’s 120 feet from the ground to the notebook at the top.
And at the way end of the day after the comedy show, a big group of people and I got permission to go on a night hike up to Vista Point, we messed around with long exposure photos using a Laser pointer, and we ran all the way back down, and Dandy supervised as most the group jumped in the creek together for a quick night swim. The hiking group made up of – Ethan, Xena, Donavan, Ben R, Genevieve, Heidi, Kheon, Magia, Cassie, Lucy.
Overall, I’m really happy with how today went, and I’m very proud of myself for my accomplishments.
