Caitlin W: Campfire Circle, Farm and Wilderness

In advisee on the first morning, everybody complained that the breakfast potatoes were overcooked. Every day since then, the potatoes have been undercooked

But today they were redeemed by being so overcooked again that I could barely chew them. I did not eat breakfast. I had apple cider and hung out in the dish pit talking to Syrus until the check in bell rang.

During morning meeting I layed on Koi who layed on Kilam and I got very sleepy and could barely stand up when the hug number was called. I brushed my teeth with Perry and we were both late for advisee. We decided to kidnap Leander, so we went over to Christians advisee and they said Leander wasn’t there, he’d already been kidnapped! check will’s advisee! And so we took the treacherous journey to the library, but alas! he was not there. We checked Larkin’s advisee on the way back, he wasn’t there either. So we went back to Christians advisee and they said “how did you not notice him sitting here the first time”. After being tricked and bamboozled by Christian, we finally got to sit down and check in. Then we played a little game where everyone found a partner and drew each other.

After advisee I played some gaga ball and got really warm so I shedded my many layers and put on shorts. I did not win gaga ball. At this point I started fiending for the dishes so I popped into the dish pit and got acquainted with my friend Hobart. Then it was time for chili lunch!! love chili 🙂 I get to make a plate first because I’m already in the kitchen. I loaded it up with sour cream and hot sauce and ate on the front porch with my friends! Afterwards, I bought some merch. And after that I shaved Christian’s head a little bit.

I was planning to go right back into the dish pit after lunch so I was still wearing my apron and Kiran told me I was giving off the clock business man energy. I did go right back into the dish pit after lunch, and stayed there until halfway through siesta.

My sister called me back at this point bc I had called her earlier 🙂 I sat on carl and we chatted, Syrus came over at some point and they chatted for a bit, then I had to leave for my worktrade! I had to skip seeing seen for my worktrade but I wasn’t gonna go anyway so I did not care. I did dishes and hung out in the kitchen for an extra hour for the love of the game.

I eventually left the kitchen and went into the lodge where I saw Sophie and Teagan hanging out so I went to join them. We talked and laughed. Then we saw the seeing seen people leaving the Cozy Lodge, we saw them all walk towards the kybos and made a joke about having a second seeing seen where everyone is in the kybos, peeing seen.

I left the lodge and sat on the jungle jill with Lily, Eliza, Sophie, and Teagan. We listened to songs that reminded us of camp and we cried a little bit. We sat there for way too long and the dinner bell rang and we still didn’t move. I eventually just got up and everyone followed. Me and Lily went to our cabins together to change into warmer clothes and then headed down to get dinner.

When we got to the kitchen they were already putting away the food, but neither of us really wanted what was getting served so we went into the walk-in and got leftovers. Working in the kitchen gives me this wonderful confidence to just go in there and do whatever I want. We ate dinner in the kitchen, I sat on the counter and we chatted with other kitchen folk.

Before check-in I scanned the front porch for dirty dishes and stacked them up. During check-in a high five/fist bump line formed in the lodge.

After evening meeting was angel walk!! I adore angel walk so much. Two lines form facing each other, and one by one everybody goes through with their eyes closed while everybody guides them and whispers nice things to them. There was a cameo from the camp skunk walking around on the porch, I said that he should go through the angel walk next.

I hung out in the lodge for a bit after angel walk and talked to people. By the time we got down to the campfire circle it was established. Very warm. William was telling a story. Everybody’s faces were lit up by the orangey light. I sat down next to Vinny and we cuddled up and listened to the story.

After a couple songs and stories I left to go write my blog post by the dock! I joined a group on the wooden platform near the water and layed on Kilam’s lap.

At this point I started fiending for the dishes again so I left the campfire circle with Sophie and Teagan. I played music in the dish pit and we had a dish pit dance party, my absolute favorite thing to do after the evening event. The PERFECT thing to do at 12am.

We finished the dishes and Syrus and Leander came over and we chatted over the dish pit counter. I love talking to people over the kitchen or dish pit counter.

Everyone who wasn’t actively working got kicked out of the kitchen at 130am because the lodge was closing.

I brushed my teeth and hung out with Tom and Ozzie until 3am, when the kitchen worktraders finally finished the dishes. It’s so peaceful sitting on the front porch swing at night. You can hear whispered conversations from across the porch. You’re very very sleepy but very content because you’re with people you love. Phaedrus was walking around shushing people late into the night. Best future Jr Night Owl ever.

Eventually I got my sleeping bag and grouped up with my guys. We decided to go to Frida’s to sleep. When we got there it was fully packed, wall to wall people asleep. Teagan and Sophie and Elijah were very confused because they had all put down their sleeping bags and blankets to claim their spots, but their items were no where to be seen. There were other campers using their blankets! 🙁

We grabbed extra mattresses and crammed 7 more people into Frida’s. I fell asleep squashed between Kilam and Vinny. Very warm, very sleepy, very content.
